SERVICE / PAYMENT POLICIES

Service Policies

Our goal for your pool is to make sure it’s clean all the time. Not just after it’s been cleaned. As a result, we’ll send you recommendations from time to time to help your pool be as clean as possible all week long.

Filter Cleans

FILTER CLEANS

Filter cleans are done every 4-6 months. Usually we’ll simply do them following this schedule then send you the bill in the following invoice. Although we try to notify you via text message before.

It’s common to find cracked or torn DE grids and worn out cartridge filters. With DE or diatomaceous earth filters, if we find 4 or more damaged grids we replace the full set of 8. If there’s only 2 or 3 broken, we’ll replace just the broken grids. Our policy is to replace a full set of cartridge filters all at the same time as they tend to wear out together.

The labor on a filter clean is $130 and if parts need to be replaced those costs would be added on top of the labor. A full DE grid set is typically around $230 – $270 depending on the size. A cartridge filter set of 4 is typically between $320 and $380 depending on it’s size. Other common parts that need to be replaced from time to time on a filter are O-rings and pressure valves.

Ex. It’s Oct 1. John gets his bill for regular monthly service to be rendered in October, plus the extra chlorine, a new pressure gauge, and a filter clean he added from September.

Late Fees

$2/day

Invoices are sent on the first, due by the 10th, and late on the 11th. Late fees begin on the 15th and are charged at a rate of $2/day.

Ex. John got his bill Oct 1. It became late Oct 11, he paid it Oct 17th and incurred a $4 late fee that will be added onto the November invoice.

We don’t like charging late fees. If you know you’re going to be late, just let us know and we’ll take care of you.

Common Extras

Filter/Salt Cell Cleans

4-6 MONTHS

A clean pool starts with a clean filter. Pools that rarely get debris or show no signs of issues will have a 6 month cycle. Pools with heavy debris will have a 4 month cycle, and pools showing problems will likely have a filter clean right away as part of the cure. Filter cleans are $130 for the labor.

Cyanuric Acid

6-12 months

Cyanuric Acid, CYA, Conditioner or stabilizer as it’s referred to has many names for the same chemical. It typically stays in the water for a very long time but does eventually break down.
It helps protect chlorine from evaporating under the harsh summer heat. It’s typically added every year in the spring and then again if needed according to chemical tests.
CYA is $12 per pound.

Salt

When needed

If salt water pools record low salt levels, they will need more salt. These are 40 lb bags and run $22/each.

Bucket of tabs

WHEN NEEDED

For chlorine only pools, the chlorine is typically supplied by chlorine tabs. These are brought to your pool in 50 lb buckets and contain roughly 100 tabs. These buckets run $180.

Pool RX

6 months

Pool RX is a small unit installed in your pump basket that doesn’t allow algae to grow in the pool. They’re very effective. These are $75 for smaller or $95 for bigger pools.

Phosphate Remover

When needed

Phosphates usually occur when fertilizer is blown into the pool. But they can be added through other organic additions. Phosphates help plants grow, algae is a plant, so no surprise they help algae grow fast. When algae is spotted, we’ll do a phosphate test. If phosphates are found, we’ll add a phosphate remover to remove it’s food source. Our highly concentrated form is $6/oz and most pools will need 4-8 oz per treatment.

When not to expect service

Vacation

TIME OFF

It’s a standard industry practice to allow 2 cleaning days off per year so the technician can enjoy some much needed vacation time. We’ll let you know in advance when these days will be.

Weather

Rain / High Wind

When it’s raining, it makes it very hard to see what’s on the bottom of the pool, chemical readings get messed up and the technician gets soaked.
With heavy winds you get similar situations where it makes it pointless to clean a pool. It’s better to come back when things calm down. You’ll be notified if this happens.

No access

No Access

From time to time we can’t access your pool. It could be anything from road closures for road, electrical or tree work. Maybe someone forgot to unlock the gate, or put away a dog you’d rather we didn’t meet. It happens, we’ll let you know via text when these rare situations come up and we’ll be there the next week to get your pool back to pristine condition.
